Temperament psychology is one of the oldest methods of explaining human behavior. But did you know that there’s more?
The system of the four biological temperaments (BioTypes), or humors as they were originally called—Melancholic, Choleric, Sanguine, and Phlegmatic—have been used to analyze personalities for over two thousand years, since the time of Aristotle and Hippocrates.
Your unique biological makeup is called your temperament. It’s the “why” behind your personality. It determines how people interpret words, actions, relationships, and respond to them.

Hi, I'm Rodrigo Garcia Platas. I'm an expert in Systemic Psychology, Unani BioTypes with a double Masters in Educational Psychology and Family Systemic Therapy.
I have over 15 years experience working as a transformational coach, speaker, and a certified FIFA Sports psychologist, leading trainings for more than 100,000 people worldwide.

While modern psychology tends to look at a person as 100% personality, Unani BioTypes takes the biology behind behavior into account as well.
THE UNANI BASE BIOTYPES
Each BioType has a different way of ingesting and responding to the world around them which makes them predisposed to certain behaviors and changes the way they react to different environments and food.
CHOLERIC (ko-ler-ik)
Cholerics live in impulse and hide in anger. They are results driven and are known to be leaders.
PHLEGMATIC (flem-mat-ik)
Phlegmatics live in emotion and hide in sadness. They are relationship driven and are known to be feelers and empaths.
SANGUINE (sang-gwin)
Sanguines live in action and hide in excess. They are experience driven are known to be doers and talkers.
MELANCHOLIC (mel-uhn-kol-ik)
Melancholics live in intellect and hide in fear. They are information driven and are known to be thinkers.
How To Identify The Different BioTypes
BioTypes can be identified based on a person’s physical features. Attributes like hand size, face shape, and where and how fat is carried on the body can give you clues as to what BioType someone is.
